My first documentary, shot in 2009 when James Elphick of Guerrilla Zoo organised a season of Alejandro Jodorowsky events in London. These events had an underground spirit, inspired by Jodorowsky’s Panic Movement. The events contributed to a renewed interest in Jodorowsky’s work in the UK, even becoming the cover story on The Guardian Guide magazine.
In 2009 it was fascinating to see what Jodorowsky had been creating during this time away from filmmaking (the last being 1990's The Rainbow Thief), and to quickly discover that his vision and sense of humor were as sharp and powerful as ever. I recently remastered the short doc in 4K from its original SD format. It’s special to come full circle and be a part of the Alejandro Jodorowsky Collector's Edition from UMBRELLA.
