Thomas Cottey is a director, producer & editor, working in a style that blends documentary naturalism with a passion for film. He has a particular interest in art & design. His first documentary A Season of Jodorowsky explored the work of cult filmmaker and avant-garde artist Alejandro Jodorowsky. 
Based in Dubai, UAE, Tom has worked on a wide range of long & short form productions. Over the years, he’s made films for brands and broadcasters including Warner Bros. Discovery, Tashkeel Studio, Emirates ICE, British Embassy UAE, Etihad, Dubai Tourism, Soho Theatre, Khazna and EY.
He has also worked on feature films including Nova '78 (2025, dir. Aaron Brookner & Rodrigo Areias), Uncle Howard (2016, dir. Aaron Brookner, exec. Jim Jarmusch) and On The Milky Road (2016, dir. Emir Kusturica, prod. Paula Vaccaro), as well as releases for Words with Gods (2014, prod. Guillermo Arriaga) & Burroughs: The Movie (2014 re-release, dir. Howard Brookner). He also worked on Behind the Moon and the Sledgehammer, about the cult classic documentary.
Tom holds a BA (Hons) degree in Film & TV Production from the University of Westminster, London.
He was selected to attend Berlinale Talents as a film critic in 2013, while editing the film blog Reflections
